Brooklyn, NY – April 9, 2013 – The US economy and US small businesses have been hit hard over the past few years. Despite a lot of talk from the government, corporations and the media it is not getting easier to grow a small business and our economy has a long way to go before we fully recover. As efforts continue to stimulate the economy with huge corporate bailouts and the ongoing frenzy to find and fund the next big start up, the true backbone of our economy- small businesses- continue to fight every day to keep their businesses alive and, as a result, our economy going. And they don’t get a lot of appreciation or support.
Thank You Small Business is a movement that is all about changing that. Silver Lining Ltd (silverlininglimited.com) in partnership with American Airlines Business Suites, Citrix, Nespresso, PostNet, OnDeck Capital, ReTargeter, NoonDalton, Envelopes.com, Small Business Expo and Privy are thrilled to have partnered to create this big campaign in support of small business. The goals of the campaign are to increase the general public’s awareness that we CAN change the economy, one small business at a time and to thank and support no less than 25,000 small businesses in the US. The campaign includes 10 free live events for small business owners to attend, over 20 free webinars for small business to participate in, a campaign to mail 25,000 thank you cards to real small business owners and to give thousands of business owners free resources and support in the official Thank You Small Business Resource Portal. Throughout the campaign, surveys and interviews will be held and the results will be released in a book, Thank You Small Business, in May 2013.
“We are thrilled to be hosting a Thank You Small Business Event in Brooklyn” said Carissa Reiniger, Founder and CEO of Silver Lining Limited and Creator of Thank You Small Business. “We hope that this free event will give Brooklyn’s local small businesses a big dose of encouragement and acknowledgement and also arm them with a TON of practical teachings and resources that will literally help them go straight home and grow their businesses.”
Every single one of the 10 free live events across the US are being hosted in a small business. Big thanks goes to Kate Northrup and the folks at Think Tank Portland for hosting the event in Portland and being small business ringleaders in the city.
Thank You Small Business will absolutely hit our goals of helping no less than 25,000 small businesses- and we need all the support we can get from local press to ensure we spread the word. Whether the story that sparks your interest is exploring how we CAN change the economy one small business at a time, diving deeper into all the elements of the Thank You Small Business Campaign or checking out the local event and telling some great local small business stories- we need your voice to make sure small businesses get the support they need.
