Talent Is Equal, Access Is Not
As part of our mission to use the assets, influences, and resources we have to create a more just world, we created the Impact5x Economic Justice Project.

Answering the Call
Phase 2 - 500 SMBs
Based on the real needs of Small Business Owners from marginalized communities across the globe, we have connected the Silver Lining Action Plan™ with innovation projects and public engagement campaigns that will help small businesses succeed. Phase 2, which was completed in October 2022, proved underserved Small Business Owners’ aptitude, resiliency, and ability to succeed when offered the same intentional and high-quality support, structure, and resources received by their peers and innovative methods for closing resource and access gaps in the small business industry for good.
Phase 3 - 5000 SMBs
With the learnings from Phase 2, we are excited to evolve the initiative from a cohort approach to a community Small Business Owner-focused approach, where SMB owners that have completed Phase 2 will take the lead, becoming the change in their community to drive the next level of the economic justice revolution.
We CAN Change The Economy One Small Business At A Time
When someone is ready to take action and has resources, support, and structure wrapped around them – they CAN hit their goals. Our 13-month program has a meaningful impact on small business owners’ success rates. Scaling this success, we have the power to reduce poverty, increase job creation, develop strong communities, and create a more just economy.
The attributes that we so often celebrate in entrepreneurs are not
what it really takes to grow a business. Based on the significant
data that we collect through our SaaS platform, we know that focus,
discipline, and accountability create success. These are not things
you need to be born with – these are traits we can develop in every
human.
We need to consciously foster a strong sense of pride in all small
business owners. The story of entrepreneurship has become
focused on raising millions, selling for billions, and building apps.
The backbone of the economy, however, is and always will be
small business owners. They are the ones who create jobs, pay
taxes, contribute to their communities, and yet too often are
overlooked.
The old-school model for business owners focuses on getting rich
at all costs – and then, once rich, giving money away. That model is
not working. We must instill a new sense of responsibility among
business leaders to use their businesses as a tool for justice.
The reality is that for those of us lucky enough to be born into any privilege, the hard work we invest gets outsized rewards. We don’t have to feel guilty about our privilege – but we must use it to create businesses and opportunities that result in an equal chance of success for everyone.

Program Strategy: Phase 2 Highlights
Program Elements
Impact5X combats systemic bias and inequality and helps more small businesses succeed by providing underserved business owners with access to the same people, products, and services as their more privileged counterparts. We explore when community-specific programming makes sense and reframe the entrepreneurial narrative to open the hearts and minds of stakeholders to combat prejudice, and activate ALL stakeholders to do their part, ANY small business can succeed.

SLAP™
The Silver Lining Action Plan™ (SLAP™) helps Small Business Owners set their financial goals and create an action plan to hit them. The 13-month program is built on behavior change science principles, is tech-enabled, and provides expert support to help you reach your small business goals.

SLAPloans
SLAPcapital™ has created SLAPloans, which are underwritten based 100% on SLAPdata (the performance and behaviors of SMBs as reported through their SLAP™ profile). No credit scores, financial statements, collateral, or personal guarantees are required. SLAPcapital™ gives Small Business Owners a chance to access capital without the bias and flaws in the current capital systems.

Revolution
Impact5000 is ready to disrupt inadequate business accelerators and mentoring programs. The top 20 SMBs will receive $5000 each to create a Ground Up Revolution with small business owners in their community. The top 250 SMBs will join our SASSer program, which includes exclusive events, resource offers, and strategy sessions. Finally, Silver Lining will create innovative investment opportunities, tools, and resources to empower local Small Business Owners in another 200 communities worldwide.

TYSB x Impact5000
Thank You Small Business was created with the mission to celebrate, support, and thank Small Business Owners for all that they do for their families, teams, communities, and the economy. The TYSB x Impact5000 Campaign will feature our cohort participants in a standout advertising campaign that will draw more clients and opportunities to benefit their business goals.
Global Community - Global Leadership
Impact 5000 will be led by 20 of Phase 2’s top-performing participants. In Phase 3, these accomplished owners will continue to receive support in growing their small businesses while receiving resources to lead specially-programmed Impact5X economic justice initiatives in their communities.

The Phase 2 Impact5X Leaders were chosen because they are incredible people who work with and represent Small Business Owners from marginalized communities around the world. Their voices and leadership have shaped the overall Impact5X program and strategy. They provided additional leadership and custom program elements to the cohort that they led. Not only did the 500 participating Small Business Owners get all of the structure and support of the core Impact5X Program, they also gained so many additional resources from the Impact5X Leader whose cohort they joined!
