The Charlotte-based artist has unique skills and experiences; this innovation queen has even coined a new title. ACE, an acronym for “artist-creative-entrepreneur,” is defined by friday as “a true artist with a creative professional skill set honed in the entrepreneurial pursuit of their passion(s).” friday is the founder of two companies, friday is dope, llc, which houses her music, and i Love a good vibe™ offers resources and branding experience assistance to other ACEs. While many people know the phrase, “A Jack of all trades is a master of none,” few know the second and more meaningful part, “but oftentimes better than a master of one.” Using her signature skills with words, Jones has made this quote her own in her tagline, “ace of all trades, master of self.”
For friday, achieving a high attendance rate for Mindset and Strategy Calls has been a game-changer for her business. The support and wisdom of her SLAPstrategist and SLAPexpert had kept her going even when sales did not reflect her hard work. They kept her motivated and gave her space to reignite her creativity to develop solutions and continue towards her goals.

Q: Think about who you are today versus who you were before starting the SLAP™ program. What has been the biggest change in your behavior? (i.e. your regular habits, practices, and self-management)
friday jones: In 2021, I started friday’s dope llc, an amalgamation of several of my passions, including music, publishing, artist development, education, media production, marketing, and consulting. I have often felt alone and misunderstood as a business owner. I can think of many times friends or family have questioned the amount of time I spend working or raised concerns about the results of my endeavors.
The truth is, I’ve learned that it’s not my job to make other people see my vision. I have taken responsibility for what alignment means to me. I am carrying the torch so those who recognize my light will follow.
SLAP™ is all about helping small business owners create more time and money so they can build a sustainable business and reach their goals. What have you learned about the Cashflow Capacity Catch 22 and what helps you manage it now?
fj: SLAP™ knows what it takes to grow a business, and it’s not more money and time. It’s a plan to use your money and time wisely to develop a sustainable business, with accountability and support along the way. Having access to the technology and guidance to track my time and money — and ensuring they always align with my goals — has been a gift and a confidence builder as a business owner.
